Anyone whose done this how much timing do you take out for each shot?
run stock timing but run race gas with nitrous IMO.
If you want to run a 50 shot on pump gas, and you know your car is running right (sane afr, etc) then run about 14 degrees of timing. If you are still on a stock pulley you should be able to spray 50 at pump gas assuming your afr's are happy.
I usually pull out about 2* for every 50 shot. But, you have to monitor...the ultimate answer will depend on your fuel, shot size, and car in general.
Forgot about this thread. Sorry about that. On the above NX kit I simply removed the schrader valve from the test port off the fuel rail and then ran the line to the fuel solenoid. The kit does the rest, but just remember if you unhook the kit make sure and put the valve back in. You can get the valve removal tool from autozone, IIRC I used a tire stem valve removal tool.
That's what I did on my G8 for the fuel line. Having a test port makes it very easy. I think I'll get a universal kit from zex or NX or whoever and go from there. I'll have to find someone who can give me different tunes for a 50, 75, and 100 shot.
Anyone have any recommendations for a WOT switch? On my G8 it was electronic so it was a lot easier to wire up instead of mechanically cable driven.
Any place to find a wot switch for a cable throttle body?
A northstar throttle body on a gen V blower still on a 1999 is still a cable operated TB right?
Yes. Only 04+ cars have DBW TB's.
Damn, that's annoying. I think I'm only going to do nitrous if I can't break 13 with a cam and the other supporting mods.
I'm assuming that you have a pretty high track elevation?
No not really? Why?
Just guessing by your posts and location.
I started out with the zex wet kit. Easy to setup and reliable. I would recommend that for beginners.
I was looking at that one, thought it looked pretty good. I was reading on 3800 pro, that dude said he didn't feel much until he went to the 75 shot because of the intercooler, have you heard of anyone else talking about similar situations?
Nah, he probably didn't have it tuned correctly.
