I have a 97 Grand Prix (4 door) and recently had the window regulator on the passenger side go bad. I went with one of these $40 ebay deals for a new regulator, as I have purchased regulators from ebay before and they have seemed to work fine. However, today, when I put this regulator in, it could barely push my window up. There is some resistance (from the weather stripping I assume because I don't see anything else in the way) when I manually move the window up and down with my hands, but the window is properly set in the window tracts. The motor should be able to provide enough power to overcome some resistance right? Anybody think this is a dud motor?

Sorry, I realize now this should probably be in another section of the forum. And I got it from Auto and Art, which is the same guy that sells them on this site in the bargain bin area. Anyone used his stuff?

clean the window tracks real good then get some dry Teflon lube from home depot lube them good you should be ok. Also running a 4 gauge wire from the alt to the fuse box helps you get faster windows and brighter lights and better heater blower

Do you have a quick trick for cleaning those tracks, as they seem like a PIA to get to?
