    Do you need to?

    Not with 105's.

    Quick answer for a kinda vague situation...factory cam or rockers as well?

    I ran an XP with LS6's on a new stock chain and dampner.

    It's not required.

    Dave @ TEP had 130's with a stock chain/dampner and whatever cam he was runnin if that makes you feel any better about it, ha.

    So your saying my topswap setup with a xp cam and #105s will work just fine with my stock timing chain/dampner. My timing chain/dampner have 90k on them.
