Anyone ever had the issue where they couldn't fill up? I seriously struggle to even get $5 in.

It doesn't matter how slow or how long I wait. It in partially or fully inserted. I looked at the filler neck it seems to be not damaged. But I can def hear the fuel come up the fIller neck as if the tank were already full.

Guess this is as good a place as any for my first post lol. I have the same issue you are experiencing, and it is definitely not the normal finicky fuel neck. I have a Wrangler that is known for fueling issues, that nozzle has to be inserted 1/3 and cocked a quarter turn to the right lol. Nothing like that helps with the GP, all in, barely out, sideways, upside down, it just doesnt take gas. Barely hit the trigger it pumps $.03 and shuts back off. I havent been able to track down the culprit yet but am assuming its somewhere between the vent coming out of the tank and the metal vent tube running up to the top of the filler neck. Possibly something concerning the vapor canister, I believe it has an open/close valve for it. My quick fix was to unhook the vapor line that runs with the fuel lines from the tank up front up the firewall to the purge solenoid, this isnt a great vent but it allows for semi-normal fueling, still cant run it full blast though. But still better than it was. Maybe someone else has had the issue diagnosed and can give us the true culprit lol.

Yeah the vent and purge solenoid are good I checked them out. It has to be something with the canister.

It did it to me last week, so I popped the hood and depressed the Schrader valve and then it filled up fine

You purged the fuel rail and it allowed you to fill up the tank fine?

yeah purging the vent line was about the same as me unhooking it, 99pgpgt is yours intermittent? I've only had my GP for maybe a month and mine has done it since I got it

It does it once in awhile. Maybe like once a month or every two months.

Purging like that would be easier if its intermittent, I left mine unhooked since I already have a CEL for an evap code. If Just purging solves it and not just a continuous vent like unhooking it, maybe its a purge solenoid problem. building to much pressure and vapor locking the tank.

I have the main tube pulled off the vapor canister in the back, the sensor unplugged, and the evap lines cut off at the front

my dad had issues with filling up his avalanche , the nozzle would click every second. It ended up being a bad fuel pump , once he replaced it he was fine

I think for the sake of troubleshooting I'm going to hook my evap line back up and try your approach and just purge it next time I go to get gas, if that allows me to fully fuel then that leads even more to purge solenoid issues.

I've checked both for proper operation. Besides can't be much pressure in the tank if any at all when the cap is off...because after all I am trying to put gas in.

There is a purge in the driver side wheel well. The purge valve connects to a canister that connects to the fuel tank, all back by the rear of the car. If you unhook the purge valve you also have to disconnect the electrical connector, this will keep the purge open and allow vapors to escape the tank.

My 05 GMC Jimmy did the same thing to me a few years back. It has a tank vent solenoid. Key on, the solenoid is activated, closing off the atmospheric vent and sends the fumes through the EVAP system. Ignition key off, the solenoid is deactivated (power terminated), and the solenoid returns to its home position, and the atmospheric vent passage is opened up. The tank fumes flow through the passage, and through a small charcoal filter about the size of a coffee mug.

If the solenoid sticks ON (atmospheric vent passageway blocked off) the air in the tank has nowhere to go when refueling, and causes basically a vapor lock, fuel gets backed up in the filler neck, and kicks the pump off.

I have NO idea if the GrandPrix's have this same sort of set up, but it might be something to look into.

Again, it was called a Tank Vent Solenoid for my 2005 GMC Jimmy.
