it limits us from being able to do a "complete" intake. yeah we can put an elbow on the end of the throttle body and a filter on the end of the maf, but we still have the crappy looking maf in the middle which just looks stupid lol

and 90% of people dont know how to oil the filter or clean it in the first place. thats why the maf problems.

i had one years ago, not worth all the extra money in the end.

This is just like fram oil filter, if you sell more of them by far, you're going to have more issues.

One guy has issues, screams at top of lungs OMG THIS PRODUCT IS CRAP without making sure that was the culprit, then boom, the internets now thinks that product is crap.

I talk to people all the time who literally will not put any filter on their car but fram.

Its cheapest filter please or fram filter please.

When you've gotten to the point of flow > ambient temps.

Larger pullied cars should still want cold air.

It's when you get sub 3.4" area you start to see open cone gains.

what you need : 3" Pvc Elbow;45 degrees, 3" rubber coupling, some 4" hose clamps and a 4 inch cone filter from Autozone. Stretch the coupling over the TB, and insert one end of your PVC elbow in there, and hose clamp it down. insert the other end of the elbow into your filter, and clamp it down. Drill a small hole in the elbow for your AT, and insert it. and youre done. Just make sure the tcu is secure after removing the air box.

    No, that's the factory MAF.

It's called get the right sized couplers and bolt it up.

Like I said earlier, the MAF isn't a restiction. It's the tiny piping, crappy filter, and numerous bends people use that kill the intake setup.

Then again, all an intake on a 3800 really does is make noise until you really start flowing.

I've seen people all stock 3800s gain 2 tenths at the track going from the stock intake to an open cone filter.
These kind of things were debunked 10+ years ago. I'm not sure how everything is so muddied up here.

i know it wont and i know it doesnt. im just saying it looks dumb. i wish there was a way to atleast polish it but ofcourse its in a plastic tube lol. thats the one think i like about the k&n intake for the 04+, they have a maf built into it so it looks good. if only it wasnt $300 lol. and if only i didnt have the damn cali emissions kit on my car with the smog pump attached to the intake lol. i dont think the k&n tubing is made out of something i can drill into and thread so i can attach the smog pump

it will work upside down too, or with the maf facing the fire wall so you dont see the lump that is the maf. mr maffy dont care how it sits as long as air flows past it.

and theres no reason why you cant paint the maf tube to match the rest of the intake if you want more then black.
