they only came with m90 i beleive and id swap for a gen v if anything
262 posts and you do not know how to use the search bar?
Would i need to do anything to the engine or leave it? As it sits right now its bone stock.
Series 1 M62
Series 2 GenIII M90
Series 3 GenV M90
And yeah, use the search...or hell, even google. There are tons of write-ups swapping on the GenV blower.
Do you know it is more efficient?
Do you know you can't pulley drop like the GenIII without more valvetrain or flow mods?
Do you have headers now?
If not, the GenV isn't gonna be worth it TBH.
How about we start small and build up to the GenV...
Have you read this? If not read it, if so... you need to re-read it.

Sheff, don't need that sh1t with 263 posts.
I have searched and i just dont understand all the lingo. thats why im asking you guys
What do you want to know?
Why do you want to upgrade the blower?
What is your budget?
What are you goals/gains you want?
Answer those.
Well, lets get a little more specific to what you want.
Are you looking for stupid fast, break the bank, out run all the cars around you?
Or... do you just want to get some extra ponies out of the car so you get a ear to ear grin when you mash the throttle?
There are a multitude of options that can be done, it just boils down to what you want as far as performance vs $$$
EDIT: BLAH BLUE!!!
Winning.
All im looking for is a few more ponnies. I am going to put on headers and a cai. It is my DD and i dont need anything to go super fast. just power when i want it.
Brobeans.
Read my safely modding thread.
Going from most of the time now that these cars are getting older...high 14's to low 15's stock...to high 13's with headers, mounts, intake, MPS system with a 3.4"~ and a tune will net you nearly 50~ WHP.
Don't have to swap blowers for that.
Build a Air Intake, there are MANY threads on how to, by far cheaper and better than anything you could buy.
Speed Daddy or SS Auto Chrome Headers are top "bang for the buck" choice on headers
^Stolen from another current thread on the same headers... just addition stuff you need for them.
Get a custom tune and a 3.4 or 3.5 pulley and you will have alot more than you bargained for given the money you spent.
After that, service the tranny (pan drop, new filter, 7-8qts to refill, NO FLUSHING!) and save up money in case something breaks when you are playing.
Enjoy.
EDIT: Every dayum time...
Like i said im not looking to down the drag strip. just want more power when i need it. also i want to hear the whine of the sc more. thats all.
Building the CAI will get rid of the box that cuts down on flow and sound, doing so will make the whine 100% more audible.
Headers will help flow and by itself give a little gain and give a bit more throatiness to the exhaust.
To finish letting the horses loose you need to pulley down a bit and have a proper tune when doing so.
Anything else after is just more and more $$$ and more power
How and where do i go to get scaned. Is that what u guys mean by buying a aero scan gauge?
Multiple options. Scan gauges, there are computer adapter that plug into the ODB2 port and read out to a laptop, palm pro, blue-tooth ones send a signal to apple/android phones, I personally use our GM Tech2 scan tool at work periodically to run on the car and make sure everything is working right... but my situation is different than most lol.
But frankly until you get into modding deeply you really don't need to worry about scanning. If you are on the stock pulley and stock tune most of what you do first is just supporting mods so the engine can handle the added boost or other mods. Stepping stones, you don't just go to the end. Have to stage it.
