I know all the vendors list it as 7.05 but every site i've seen lists the stock part number as 7.023
GM 24504406 Rod - GM genuine OEM part
is this a difference in the way the factory measures the pushrods vs aftermarket companies or what?
I'm doing a cam install soon and may be ordering custom length rod's to reduce lifter preload-but i need to verify what stock rod length is to determine the correct size
anybody have more info on this?

bumping for cool potential info. Never heard this before..but assumed what the vendors said. Likely due to our lifter tolerances 7.05 was the closest and good enough match.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

This reminds me of the stock rocker size debate...

For 97-08 Supercharged and Naturally Aspirated Grand Prixs rockauto lists SEALED POWER Part # RP3340
    6.959" O.A.L. (Size: Standard)

Being that we only have the option of adjusting lifter preload through pushrod length, this could be pretty critical mis-information for someone aiming for maximum performance. for instance. . if a guy orders 7.00" rods to reduce preload by .05 but stock rod's are actually 7.023 he's really only reducing preload by .023 which may not be enough.

I will have my stock rod's out of the car this weekend. anybody have any tips on how to accurately measure them? 8" digital caliper is the only thing that comes to mind
