check out Morads Morad Parts Company - 3800 Motors, Transaxles, & Stock Parts for complete S/C motors, 04+ S/C has the most horse power stock, 260 at the crank
The bottom end will hold. IIRC the L26 is the weakest of the 4 motors that came in a GP though.
For the record ive had over 17* of knock and 22+ AFR and my engine is still alive.
well when you are saying you want an NA bottom end you only have two options the L36 and L26. after seeing that the L26 is weak... then it is easy to see you want an L36. this was my choice as well. I got my trans, engine, and topswap kit from Morad and was pleased with the level of service. I was able to get basically everything i needed for the 3800 swap from a 98Z34 to put into my 96z34. It fired up first try.
whats so weak about the L26 bottom end?
the l26 used powdered metal rods, which were supposed to be an improvement but fatigued over time. The biggest difference was that it saved GM a few dollars per engine.
Yea i think they had the smallest connecting rods or something
