Hey guys. Just finished my top swap build on my 1999 GT. The only issue is the supercharger belt doesn't want to sit in the middle of the pulley on the tensioner. It moves over to the side closest to the block, and I've had it rub a few times. I've tried moving the the belt to the middle grooves on the supercharger pulley and it angles it even more and makes it worse. Any ideas?

sure its flush with the block?

Try finding a square thats true and put it against the block and see if the pulley is too.

Is it straight with the crank or is it tracking off the crank?

on the back (well atleast on mine) there are 2 tabs the stick out. and they go a certain way so the tensioner will have the spring to it. And the way it looks with the arrow on the tensioner it doesnt have any. ill take a picture and post.

The belt takes a sharp angle going from the supercharger down to the tensioner. I don't understand.

The belt stays on the crank, but it wants to move towards the block on the tensioner. It stays straight on every other pulley.

i just had mine in my hand. any chance its the wrong year tension'er? it bolts to the the coil bracket iirc so if the 2 were different years maybe they wont work together?

All the same. There's no different year that I've ever seen.

maybe its not mounted right to the coil bracket, i recall my tentioner has a notch and it locked on the coil bracket. like midnight said up there.

It's locked up properly to the coil bracket. I unbolted it and reseated it and it still didn't solve it.

you have a spare one to test out? this one may be bent or f'ed up in some way. did it come with the top swap or you found all the parts you needed?

is the pulley its self tight, no play? the tentioner arm tight too?

I might go get another one from the yard and test it out. I don't understand why it's doing this.

The tensioner pulley seems to be bouncing around quite a bit when I run it. I think it's causing it to lose tension on the belt, and then the belt shifts over. I'm going to try get a new tensioner and see what happens.

I went and got another tensioner from a GTP at the yard. Same problem. The belt wants to angle going from the supercharger to the tensioner pulley. The belt is rubbing on the tensioner arm, no matter which rib I put the belt on the supercharger. I shredded one belt already. I don't understand. Could the snout be bent?
