before i tore the top end of my engine down, i had a large oil leak that i thought was from the LIM. well engine is back together and it is still there. i had replaced the tore up oil filter housing gasket, still leaks.

i lose about half a quart after about 60miles of driving daily.

its on the passenger side of engine.

where could the leak be, that leaks half a quart a day

start your car turn the wheels all the way to the left, get a flash light, and look behind the pass side tire at the oil filter, (leave the car running) just past it is the oil pressure sensor. if its leaking, it leaks right where the plug, plugs into it.

timing cover main seal. changed, no more oil leak!

it was not seated properly and the mating surface was all scratched up, with burrs sticking up.

How were you able to confirm it was that leaking? I have a leak, bottom of oil pan is covered so that every pan bolt has drips of oil but no obvious source. It does not look obvious that either front or rear valve covers gaskets are doing it. If kind of seems to be coming from the front of engine it seems but trying to see anything in detail is hard from under or looking down from top.

you need to de=grease your engine, top and bottom, and the trans, then watch it over the next few days, by getting under it and looking for a trail of oil.
