so i want to replace my coupler because its bad. ive seen the video on youtube on how to change out the coupler and i can totally do that. 2 things

    1. how do you take out the alternator? the video skipped that step and i dont wana fuk it up. i can unbolt stuff no prob, but is there any wires or anything to disconnect? that stuff i dont get

    2. ive searched for changing coupler threads and noticed people mention a sealer, like its needed if you take off and put on the nose cone. is that true? if so what do i do with it?

i already know how to remove the sc oil and put new oil in

    thanks

You dont have to unbolt the wire on the back of the alt or unplug the connector, you can just remove the 3 alternator bolts and move it aside.

And you want anerobic sealer for the snout.

If you get the "kit" from zzp it comes with the sealer. And there are instructions somewhere for removing the alternator, and pretty much anything from these engines, I would start with google first though. There might be a thread on here somewhere but I'm not sure.

RollingPerformance.com also sells a kit...without the costly shipping.

    after disconnecting battery :P
its three-four bolts firstly remove the serpentine belt
you will see a bar running from the passenger side from the alternator to the engine follow it and lossen but dont remove the bolt
remove the bolt from the alternator end of the bar
the other two bolts are on the driverside of the alternator almost directly behind the wire harnesses that run to it I removed the harness and wire bolt to make it a lil easier unscrew the two rods on the passenger side the one with the bar connected that you had previously removed a bolt from
and the other facing the same way on the other side of the alternator and it's out.

worst part of whole job is the supercharger oil imo. Hope this is where the sound is coming from other culprits are the bearings inside the sc and the sc belt tensioner and or pulley
