my car is currently a bone stock 99 GTP and i was looking to make it better just kind of a side project nothing to fancy, i was thinking of putting headers and an open cone on soon but do you guys think this would be enough flow to run a 3.6'' pulley?

With every modification you do, no matter how small, you will definitely want to re-tune your car to take advantage of the gains. A tune is the one place you don't want to skimp. The wrong tune is what makes a heavily modded car slower than a car with half the mods.

your telling me new headers require a tune? cone filter requires a tune? stuff like that, sure i can see how a tune would be nice but i dont have the money for that plus i dont know of any places around here that do that

You not only have zzp who can tune you... There are a million people on here from Michigan that would meet up with you to tune.

Its not going to help. If you're gonna spend the money and time on headers, dont you want to get the best out of them? Just to use an analogy, I can buy the baddest TV out there and upgrade to the fastest cables they have. But if I leave it on the default settings, it's still gonna look like shÃ*t.

I ran untuned on my rocker 3.4 setup for a little while. Even throwing the zzp 1.0 pcm in instead of a real tune helped it out a lot.

you dont really need a tune for headers honestly. you do need a tune if you drop a pulley though.

What would you adjust for in the tune?

All that would be needed would be retuning the maf for the intake.

Honestly...an easy bolt ons project would be as simple as...

Headers of whatever kind you want...they all do the same crap....

Get a dremel...hog out the blower outlet for lower outlet temps...

Get a ZZP MPS, and hell...have them toss it on the dyno and then throw the 3.4" on and a re-tune just to see the gains...that'd be worth it IMO...that way you don't have to waste your time with a canned PCM from ANY vendor.

Toss some new plugs/wires on it...along with a 180* T-Stat so they can lower the fan turn on points and flip the square dog bone mounts for better power transfer.

And for sure, just toss the cone on there...that'll help out too.

You can drop a pulley size without a tune. Just make sure you scan for KR.

better flow lets you drop pulley size and get ponies! Very modest Gaines without pulley drop.
