Oh, another thing...Remove the gas cap, reprime the system and see if stays running. You could have a problem with evap system. I've seen the solenoid valves malfunction and cause all kinds of problems.

could it be a sensor someone told it could be the crank position sensor since it turning over real fast but not starting
Most of the sensors will set a DTC and the SES light would be on.
Did you re-prime the system at the schrader valve? If you do this and it starts then there is a fuel problem.
If the evap system is not working there may be a vacuum in the tank. When you shut it off, this vacuum will pull the fuel backwards into the tank leaving the fuel rail full of air. I would remove the gas cap, re-prime the system and see if the car runs and restarts after sitting.
yea i prime the system when i push the schrader valve fuel shot out my car is getting no spark just turning over real fast
my uncle did my car started acting funny when it got like 80 degress it ran fine until the weather got warm it started sputtering shutting off but would start right back up i thought it was the fuel pump i believe my old pump was never bad because he put the old pump back in and it used to crank right back up but it didnt but we had like a week of 80s in chicago ever since my car was acting funny
the new fuel pump is in but whenever the car start up it run perfect it just if you leave it off for 5 minutes or so it wont start back up
my tank is on the halfway mark how to find out if its a vacuum in the gas tank havent change the filter yet?
Once you get it running, take it down the road and run it for about 15minutes. When you get back home remove the gas cap and make sure there is a little pressure that escapes. You'll smell the fuel. If air gets sucked back into tank then it's creating a vacuum.
And for God's sake, replace the filter.
tomorro im goin to put a new filter on it when i try to start it seem like the car is flooded i put a new crankshaft sensor on today thats not the problem i wonder if that fuel pumping to much gas since it was for 99 or 00 and flooding my car
Fueling is controlled by injector duty cycle via the PCM. I doubt this is the problem. You'll know if it's flooded...fuel smell coming from the exhaust. I guess you could have a dead injector but the car should still start if you hold the accelerator to the floor.
On an earlier post you said there was no spark? Is this why you changed the CPS?
yea thats the reason i change it still doing the samething its like my engine getting no compression
Please explain your diagnosis:
No Spark
No Compression
I can't wait to hear this. We're getting no where.
There are a lot of professional mechanics in Illinois you know.
If you want to check to see if the injectors are firing, unplug one of the injectors and get yourself a 194 bulb. Bend the tabs of the bulb straight out and put this bulb in the end of the harness connection that plugs to the top of the injector and crank the car over. If the bulb lights then you have injector pulse (at least to that injector).
Time to get a fuel pressure gauge on the schrader valve and see what the pressure reads at prime, and at crank. You can also use it to see if the fuel pressure bleeds off after the initial prime by just turning the key, let it prime and NOT trying to start it. It should hold pressure if everything is right.
im about to try the bulb trick but im getting spark and fuel but for some reason no compression at all
What do you mean by "no compression". I think you mean "no ignition".
Compression: When the air/fuel mixture is reduced in volume by the piston moving upward producing a proportionate rise in pressure. The piston compresses the air/fuel mixture.
Ignition: The spark plug discharges/ignites the above said compressed fuel/air mixture and forces the piston downward.
I doubt you've done a compression test on the engine. If you have then what were the results?
I would do like fordman says and check the fuel pressure at the schrader valve before doing anything else.
its getting compression i change the filter thats wasnt the problem the problem put my old fuel pump bac in still wont start but now it act like it want to start but cut back off like its out of gas i tried the bypass that dosent works aww frustrating trying my best to avoid a shop well next i will be getting a fuel pressure gauge
