Im on a cell phone so I can't type to fast right now.
Im curious to see what motor oil you guys recomend. I am used to using mobile one oil, but I do not know which oil is in my car atm. Synthetic? Non Synthetic? I dunno.
What do you guys think?

3K car? My car is a 3K car?
Ams oil, and i'm quite sure many people that have used it will agree. It's a synthetic oil and is more expensive then "regular" motor oil but you get what you pay for. Also you can wait longer in between oil changes.
Now this is just my opinion:
Yes, Amsoil is synthetic and it is much better than conventional oil. But for my daily driver, it is not worth the expense. If I had a car with a build race motor in it, intercooled, turboed, or drove in extreme heat or extreme cold for long periods of time, then Amsoil, or any synthetic would be beneficial. But I can't justify the extra cost of the synthetic oil, special oil filters, and oil analysis tests, when my engine already runs fine and will last well over 250k on regular dino oil from walmart.
Our 3800 engines are not picky on oil. And they hold together very, very well. So again, for my daily driver, I cannot justify the extra cost of running Amsoil or any other synthetic.
I run castrol 10w30 in mine, synthetic. my car is programed on a oil percentage left, every 5k mines but i usually change it when it says i have 40% left. I like to change it alil early![]()
I run Royal Purple 5W-30, just because. Sometimes I run Castrol Syntec 5w-30, but for me it's always synthetic in the SS. Any oil spec'd for your engine will be fine. Some will allow a longer oil change interval, but you have to have the oil tested to know what that is.
good point streetwolf
ah i dont really see differnce with the K&N i think i use Fram
lol its the only one my these hillbilly auto stores sell this way
Ac Delco is awesome, unless you have plans on running race fuel. They collapse way to frequently to risk it. Thats why I use the K&N.
I run the royal purple oil with lucas synthetic additive. As for the 3k thing yeah that is somewhat true. Our cars modded or not dont bring a great street value. BUT I run synthetic in all my vehicles. I dont base the value of my car on the $ spent for maintenance. maybe this is why I have had DD and work trucks go over 300K on stock tranny and no major repairs. I am not easy on my driving habits either. Thats just my .02 you will have others who will say I am crazy to spend 50 bucks on an oil change for a vehicle with a worthless book value. My reply is, well worth a penny or not I dont want to have to buy another vehicle until I chose to. Buying a replacement vehicle and the inconvenience is worth the small maintenace fees I spend. I'm not knocking Bio's advice, just explaining why I go synthetic.
I guess I'd say how long do you want the car to last and how hard do you drive? Plus how is your budget?
forgive me for the subject change but david is that a freaking WS6 hood?
