ok guys i cant find my symptoms on here with what my car is doing, forst i bought this car from my friend who is haveing finacal troubles for 600.00 he says it has problems i say no problem, my dad owns a shop and we hooked it up too our scanner and got p1629 theft deterant code, well the car wil run just fine and it drives ok but if you give too much gas it maxs boost out and stutters, but if you just barely push on the pedal it will accerlate just fine and cruise doen the road. but the car will set there and idle just fine for hours. it has 262,000. i know alot of miles so ive been leaning towards the cps, or maybe the theft module itself, thanks guys for your help in advance.

i had also thought of that, but wasnt too sure the owner also chipped it and put a small sc pully on it not sure of size, it wouldnt have anything to do with either or becasue they were done way prior to either of us owning it. also would i have any problems on hollowing cat out besides a ses light?

chips are fake, its gotta be reprogrammed with a tuner to be "chipped", make sense?

and that smaller pulley is just asking for trouble, with it being stock i assume, it can only handle the stock 3.8 pulley size and even then its gets KR and has to bump down timing in order to run right.

I would take the smaller pulley off and get a stock one on there asap.

and if you hollow the cat out, your going to get the rear o2 sensor code.

yeah i understand the "chip deal, also we used a snap on scanner and i watched like the live data and it was pulling a cylinder 3 and 4 misfire on cycles but nothing super high it was onlt like 3 time per cycle on number 3 cylinder and like 12 on the forth cylinder yeah i read on here about that pulley and have seen that, the car will do this regardless of cold or warm so im stumped, that dam theft code came back on alldata we have to being like limp mode dam near, but hey for the money i paid for it ill throw some money at it. yes she's stock

its got alot of miles, so its needs a good tune up.

do plugs, wires, air filter ect ect.

Take the thottle body off and remove the sensors and clean it really well, and then get some maf cleaner and clean the maf off, that may help some.

as for the o2, take the upper o2 sensor out and stick a pressure gauge in the bung and turn the car on, it should read right around 1 psi of back pressure, if its more than its most likely a clogged cat.
