    I want to do an open cone but I have a LS1 MAF. Im sick of the regular filter hitting the PCM. Just want to know if anyone has pictures. I couldn't find a DIY with a MAF. Thanks!!

    it shouldnt be that hard... i feel if someone cant figure out how to make a HAI on their own they shouldnt mod.... cause if you cant figure out something this easy, then when things get tricky with future builds you are just asking for trouble... but i do understand that everyone needs to learn at some point and not everyone is handy or creative... so here ya go...

    im assuming you have a stock l67 TB. even if ported still same size...

    start off like everyone else and put an adapter on the TB and a 4" 45* bend. you may need a hacksaw to cut back the bend a bit. then another adapter to get the bend to connect to the MAF, then mount the filter to the maf.

    may i ask how you have it set up now?

    First of all, Im certified in four areas. Next, I really wanted example of how to do it with a ls1 maf and a 9 inch right off the TB, not that 45 degree angle junk that half of the grand prixs run. Obviously you dont get what the question was. No need to be an dick about it. Just wanted pictures of people who have done it. i have an idea but needed more. I have one my car right now, but its the 45 degree and i want a straight one. Simple. One like Nick use to run on his blue car. Right off the throttle body, to external MAF, to filter. And look at my mod list, thanks. I understand how to mod...

    Im sorry i didnt mean to bash you but i still stand by my statement that if one cant figure out how to put a filter on the TB with a few adapters even with a MAF in between, then doing other mods like rockers, headers, and what happens when they get to tuning!!! OMG.

    maybe the thread should be, i want to improve my open cone... or how can i run this better so it doesnt hit my pcm...

    Maybe you should see that i have done stuff on my car actually. Its more of a I want to run this better, straight off the TB, 0 degrees, with an external MAF. Havent seen alot of examples of this so i wanted help from someone who has done it. I have rockers and 3.4, i get this game. lol. I do.

    I did see the mods list... i did have a friend that had an 02 GTP that he had others do the work to. had 1.9's 3.4, togs, and i did his tuning... but could have been dangerous if he did the work on his own. so having mods done in my experience doesn't mean that the person knew how it went together...

    but im sorry to come down on you at the start. like said the wording made me think you had no clue... but now i know you just want a better cleaner setup... im glad cause when i see a floppy or cheep looking setup it hurts my eyes.
