ok so i am planning on doing a cam swap next summer, and was looking at either a nic cam, or a custom grind cam, i want a lumpy idle my question is why don't you use a IC with a nic cam, and can i use a single roller timing chain with crow 105s and push rods with this cam, ive also come up with a cam profile of my own let me know what you think. duration 220/230 lift .524/.524 lsa 112

You can run an innercooler ith it, it has a long duration which lowers boost levels thus allowing you to run a smaller pulley with out an innercooler.

ya i know it bleeds off boost and thats why you have to run a smaller pulley to get that same amount of boost with xp cam and bigger pulley as for valvetrain what is needed i was thinking crow 105s, pushrods, and a new timing chain and damper do i have to run a double roller or withh a single be fine ive searched threads but there is no clear yes or no answers, also that car will have a in car tune is a wide ban tune necessary to be reliable and not blow my engine

Single chain should be fine for 105s.

Not really.. if you are running a 98-03 you should be fine with just unplugging the o2 sensor, and making sure you have a bit of extra in PE AFR... It doesnt change the VE of your motor as much as you would think... its a fairly low lift cam, and the stock tune is sorta lean as it is....

    Don't WB tune a NIC.

Sounds good...Everyone that hasn't has popped a motor, including ZZP. It's a very tempramental cam. Also...why would you yank out the rear o2 on an '01+ car...that just causes issues with fueling and makes tuning worse.

I wouldnt be speaking from experience or anything... Not like I have built 3 and tuned a few others of these in the last year.

The NIC is very normal, I have more issues with XP's and S1x's due to their lift and tighter VE requirements.

They were all wideband equipped cars... I just never really used the WB for much more than "oh, it looks good" after I wrote the base fueling stuff.

Your seriously telling me you tuned 3 WB equipped cars...and failed to use the wideband? Why? Narrowband isn't really cuttin' it....

    Welcome to yesterday.

These cars were just setup with my "mail order" NIC base file (which is basically stock with whatever injectors you decided to run in them, and a tiny bit of PE afr mods).

I wonder when people are going to stop believeing all this taboo around everything that has a problem at one time or another..... When noobs run parts they dont understand then bad stuff happens... I happened to have figured out how to make an NIC do what it should have done years ago, so it is not "temperemental" anymore.
