My idler pulley broke, and it seems to have damaged the plastic hub that's on the bolt (the dealer says this plastic piece is part of the bolt, the independent parts house said it wasn't -- but neither of them have the bolt or the plastic piece...). The part is discontinued, and the after market parts houses say there are not any after market options. Any ideas?

You'll need a whole new idler assembly. If you're driving and that bolt comes out you can lose the pulley, causing your supercharger belt to come off. It happened to me on the track, now I have a cool looking paperweight.

My pullet came apart, leaving only the bolt. I bought a new idler, but it didn't come with a new bolt, or a bushing that goes on the bolt that the pulley rides on (which is actually what is failed).

Which pulley location. Likely I have a spare as well. But the easy thing to do is hit up a JY and pick one up.

That plastic is on certain bolts to help center the pulley. Typically the piece it sits on has a similar piece that seats the back half of the bearing and this piece takes care of the front half.

I've picked up quite a few of these at JY's. There will be a pulley on almost every GM car. Most are the same bolt/setup.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I've checked a couple of junk yards, and they won't pull just that plastic piece for me, and the U-Pull-It place in KC won't tell me whether they have any GTPs, or not (I assume I need to use the plastic bushing from a supercharger idler, rather than the accessory side...I could be wrong), and it's an hour round-trip to find out.

If anyone has one that they want to give up, I'll be happy to pay for shipping, or to come pick it up if you're local to Kansas City. I'm so tired of driving a naturally aspirated 3.8!

It's the supercharger idler pulley (the one that sits sort of right under the coil packs).
