    Hi everybody.
    I really hope you can help me out on this one. I've had my 05stupid compG since it was new and I never had a problem with it. That is until now.
    Last week I started the car and it ran very rough and stalled. I assumed that since it was parked on a hill with a near empty tank(my wife loves to do that crap) the car sucked up some crap from the bottom of the tank. I limped to the station and threw in some super. The car fixed right up. I ran some errands that day without any issues. The following Tuesday I started the car again and it was back to running rough. Now it barely even ran.
    It idles rough, the exhaust even smells funny, though not sweet like antifreeze.
    I pulled the plugs and they were fine, hooked up My scanner and the injectors were all functioning. I replaced my cat with my off road pipe thinking the cat might be to blame. Fuel pressure was 52lbs at on and 60 at idle. The only thigh I replaced could find after checking all the wires and harnesses was some evidence of some critters getting under the hood. Nothing chewed though. The only other thing is my gas cap is broken. The pawls in the ratcheting handle are bad so I can't tighten it fully.
    I don't have many mods in the car. I have rockers, an airbox, pulley, powerlog and ported rear mani. The rest is minor.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    to be clear here is no cat right?

    Trying cleaning your throttle body really good and see if that helps. The DBW systems really seem to like carbon build up alot.

    I will stop and buy some throttle body cleaner today and give that a try. How can I check the sensors? When I goose the throttle it seems the supercharger kicks in much lower in the rpms than it normally would.

    I sprayed down the throttle body real good and then did the maf sensor too and bought a new gascap on the off chance the screwed up cap was the root or the problem. No luck. The ticking sounds like its coming from the front bank left side rocker cover. I did the rockers 5 years ago. If a boot backed out or worse snapped, what would happen? Would the engine even run? Or would it start a chain reaction of carnage ending with a 3800 boat anchor? I have a map sensor on order at a local shop but I don't want to start spending money I don't have.

    Well I did a compression test on the car yesterday and here's what I got:cyl1-70# cyl1-70#, cyl2-90#, cyl3-0, cyl4-90, cyl5-90, cyl6-90. Thinking broken valvespring? I can't believe this is happening. The motor only has 34,000 on the clock. Do I just change out the springs? I have been running a gen1 set of intense 1.9;1 rockers for the last 5 years without problems. Until now. Back when I had them installed the thinking was that they would be ok with the stock springs. Guess not. What should I get to replace them? Should I go with the 90#stock ls springs? What else do I need?

    Opened the valve cover to find a broken valvespring. Guess its better than a chipped piston. I've been looking for a write up on installing springs and all I find is rocker install stuff. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Special tools needed? Im thinking either the 90cat or 105 lb springs and the retainers and locks maybe seals too. What are you guys running? I plan on keeping my 1.9:1 rockers

    LS style springs and retainers (from the G8). They are cheap and they work well. You'll need a valve spring compressor tool and some kind of device to prevent the valve from falling into the cylinder (spark plug air adapter or nylon rope).
