Hi I am wondering what mufflers I should get to produce a deeper louder sound to my grand prix. I want to do this without installng a full cat back. I am looking at something like flowmaster 40 series or cherry bomb pros maybe glasspacks. Also I believe I will need 2 mufflers with 2.25 inlets? Corret me if Im wrong. 2004 gtp comp g.

    Thanks!

Do not use ANY chambered muffler (flowmaster). They will sound like junk and produce a bunch of interior drone.

Do a quick search for "mufflers" here and see what comes up. I know this was just brought up last week. Most people recommend removing the resonator and installing a 25" glasspack and keeping the stock mufflers. You can also go with Borla's as they seem to produce the best tone.

If you're looking to get that V8 sound from the 3800 then good luck. I'd get a GXP if that's what you're after.

how much of a difference would a res delete for a glasspack make in terms of loudness? Any one done that here?

youtube and the search button man.

This topic has been covered about a million times.

Res delete = rasp, which = crap.

All I found is that chambered mufflers sound like crap on 3800s. Nothing saying how a glasspack for a res sounds. Does this give it a raspy sound? I def do not want rasp.

a glasspack in the same spot as the res, just makes the sound a smidge different and you will get no rasp.

and yes, no chambered muffers ever

Here is a thread that talks about removing the resonator and there is a vid in there as well.

    http://www.grandprixforums.net/remov...ound-4099.html

Just do a search for this as there are many threads out there.

Dynomax and Thrush come to mind. Check Oreillys and Autozone.
