    We got a totaled 96 Buick Riviera in our shop.I have a 99 GTP, i was wondering if the 3800 series2 sc or any thing else on the car is the same as mine,or should i just leave it alone.

    Motor should be the same...96 Riviera came into the local yard a few weeks ago, I was going to grab the motor out of it but somebody beat me to it.

    Yeah engine is the same one that would be found in a gt/se altho some brackets and sensors are a little different.

    OH boy..he swung and missed that one. Nick.. uh Riv's came charged or uncharged. Majority seem to have been charged. Same motor!

    Yeah I was going to ask If it was charged or not, Now that I think about it most I have seen have me charged, gotta bust your balls in chat tho when make it in there.

    SWEET, i wish the trans was the same but probably not i'm sure. I don't think i can take the whole engine.Gonna grab the sc for sure if anyone knows of something else that would be smart to take please help me out THANKS ALOT!!!

    Riviera had the 4t60e in 96, and then got the 4t65e hd in 97 I think

    Got the sc out today,not sure what to do with it yet. i got it all clean,kinda like to paint it or something.It's so awsome to have an extra and got it for almost nothing.I hope to get another soon.

    Polished Gen V, 3.1 mps, intercooled, S1X cam, northstar tb, and Tim King built trans with 3.29s and all the good stuff

    I work at a body shop is it some thing i could do my self? Could i paint it or should it be powder coated not sure if i have the time to polish.

    I'm a powdercoat fan but it can be painted too...Many believe powdercoat holds in heat more than paint does, and that's probably not what you want happening with the supercharger, but in this case I don't think there would be much of a difference at all.

    Would it help if I mentioned that I have successfully swapped a 4T65E into a 96 Riv by adding 5 wires, moving one wire and swapping in a 97 pcm?

    Would it also help if I told you what to look for on the back of the transmission so that you'd know it would bolt up?

    The Riv is gone now but we have a 97 gtp in the tow lot.not sure if i can mess with it just yet.
