I am planning to get my LIM gasket replaced here real soon. I was planning on getting highier ratio rockers(Modified Stock Rockers @ 1.9). Is there anything that I should replace while that is getting done thats not too expensive?

    Pushrods?
    New rocker Bolts?

    new stock rocker bolts
LS6 valve springs or something better than stock, you're going to have valve float on the stock springs at stock shift points with 1.9's. The people who argue otherwise have never been on a dyno or ever proved that wrong.
LS style retainers if going with LS style springs
    Valve seals
    valve cover gasket
    plastic coolant elbows

You are probably also going to want pushrods, intelse sells lightweight ones that help combat valve float, but if your car is anything like mine after a tom of miles my stock pushrods have bent a bit and been a little smushed on the ball part.

Good idea! I think I will do that aswell. Will a bent/ruined pushrod cause any ticking by any chance?

And what size will they need to be?

I found some Valve Spring retainers on ZZP. Says they for LS1, Will those still fit or will I have to go look elsewhere?

NOOOO do not get lightweight pushrods. They are not stronger and are more prone to bending. Keep your stock pushrods

    Springs (105's, LS6 or L76)
    LS Retainers
    Valve seals
    Reusable rocker bolts
    Valve cover gaskets with grommets
    LIM's (aluminum GM)
    TB gasket
    Coolant elbows (Dorman 47065)
    Cleaner
    Gasket scraper
    Coolant
    Oil change (automatic with LIM's)
PS fluid (while the alt tensioner if off, it's the best time to top it off)
Plugs/wires if they are in need.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I'm starting to lean towards the L76/L92 valve springs Pure mentioned yesterday and others have mentioned before. They have the same, if not more seat pressure, but the spring rate isn't as high as the LS6's. This would be ideal for a stock timing chain as the spring rate on the LS6's is higher than #130 springs. I know a lot of people who use LS6's on stock timing chains and haven't had a problem, but it doesn't look like it would hurt anything going to a more dampener friendly spring.

    Here:

    http://www.prjperformance.com/Files/...0to%20Lift.htm

And here is the part number for the L92 springs:

#12589774--Got mine from GMpartsdirect-- $2.17 a piece--You have to order packages of 5 so you will have 3 extra unless you know someone who has 2 extra for you already.

These will work with 1.9 modded rockers? Cuz that seems alot cheaper to go that route and might have to add these to my spring mod list lol

Why does everyone want to do mods 'on the cheap'...Yea, I know...........But...

Just my suggestion...Probably cost more but...

I have used 1.9 Roller rockers...Old Harland Sharps...Now would suggest Yella Terras...
    Oil Restricted Push Rods...Intense...
105# Springs...Formerly Comp Cams now Crow Cams on rebuild...
    Manley Steel Retainers...
    Valve locks...

All these have taken me over 80,000 miles...

More expensive doesn't always equal better.

Yella Terra 1.9s--Are going to do basically the same thing as the modded ones. Yes they are roller tips but I guess I don't see that alone justifying the price.
Oil restricrted push rods--I wouldn't put them in because oil is needed and I have heard that they are actually weaker than stock push rods.
Comp #105s--Are good but totally not needed for 1.9 rockers. The L92s work perfect and they are way cheaper.
Steel Retainers--Sure but all you really need is a set to get the right height.
Valve locks-- Again Sure but you really don't NEED to do them.

If that is your setup I am not trying to down you at all. It will work well and be a solid setup. I just don't think anyone should think that they NEED to do that stuff to have it work well because they don't.

l92's are much easier on your timing chain and tensioner which is a major plus.

I'm actually getting ready to do some modified 1.9 rockers myself. I'm picking up the springs from GM parts direct as mentioned above, reusable rocker bolts from zzp, and LS retainers. So I think I have everything I need.

However, I didn't see head gaskets anywhere so I am assuming this is being done with the head still on the block. How do you guys do that? I've always pulled the head and used a spring compression tool.

You still use the spring compression tool but an "Air hold" also. The air hold screws into the hole for the spark plug and puts pressure into the cylinder. That way you don't have to take the heads off.
