Hey guys, I just took my TaskMaster out to check the engine codes on my '98 GTP, came up with 2 codes:
P0230D- Fuel Pump Primary Circuit Malfunction
P0401A- EGR Flow Insufficient
I didn't notice it before, but when I first turn the key on, the fuel pump kicks on to prime, but it doesn't shut off like my other cars do. . . It will just keep running as long as the key is on. There are no fuel leaks, it doesn't have trouble starting, and the car runs like a top, but I want to get that fixed. . . I'm going to first try swapping the fuel pump relay, see if that works.
As for the EGR code, I'm guessing there's a blockage in the EGR system somewhere, but I honestly don't even know where to begin. I usually remove the EGR crap from my cars anyway, but since this one is a DD, I really want to try to keep it all stock.
The car is a BONE STOCK 1998 Grand Prix GTP Sedan with 135,500 original miles. I'm lost when it comes to GM V6's, all my V8 cars have the EGR crap removed and blocked off, and this is my first and only FWD car, so everything is sideways to me. lol
