Anyone have any ideas why on occasion when turning into a a parking space my car wants to chug out and die. It never stalls, its just acts weird. Its usually when I'm turning right into a space. It just acts really weird. Could it be because it was cold outside and the car wasn't that warm? I only live 5 minutes from work. Its only done this a few times.

    2004 GTP CompG 104,400.

    Thanks for any knowledge

Maybe a dirty IAC. With the low rpms and added load of turning into a parking space it may not be letting enough air in and almost stalling the motor.

It's an electronically controlled throttle bodied car...with over 104k...and over 7 years old...I'd bet 20 to 1 the throttle body needs to be cleaned. It tends to be a common issue with '04+ cars or most any GM car with a DBW TB.

Just use some brake clean...that's what I did on my Cobalt around 50k...noticed a slight increase in MPG/idle quality

04+ will be drive by wire and shouldn't have an IAC anymore.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Thanks! Question: my LIM gasket was replaced last May before I purchased the car, will garages clean the TB when they take it apart and put it back together or are they just focus on the problem at hand and won't look at anything as a kind gesture. My thought is, if it appears dirty and its something easy to clean, wouldn't you just do it for the customer. I'm wondering if they did it.

It you have a flat headed screw driver...and a 10mm socket/ratchet...you can remove the TB and clean it by buying a 2 buck can of brake cleaner...and no...they won't do it...they'll probably tell you a slew of things are bad before they even attempt to just clean it.
