i replaced my coupler finally do i need to use or do anything special to seal the snout back to case?

^Yup.
I have always had great luck with the Permetex Ultra Gray RTV gasket maker. Trick is to use a small, small thin bead of it since the snout and case are zero tolerance.
The stuff I use now is much like the anaerobic sealer listed above, but its from Detroit Diesel. A whole hell of a lot better by far. That's what I am currently using now.
Snout bolts go on evenly and torqued to 22 ft. lbs.
GenV's you use the sealer on the two center bottom bolts threads as well.
