I'd like to get deep into the 13's. I know there are multiple ways to do this. The car is a 2000 gtp sedan. So far I have a spare supercharger to port and it has a zzp mps on it and I have a GTX ram air hood and cone filter. Was planning on sd headers, plugs, tune, rockers. Is a cam about the only way to get to this goal? I don't think budget wise i'd like to go much further than this such as intercooled, turbo, etc. Opinions?

you can run 13s easy with a rocker car so long as your tune is good.

Well do you know someone in Wisconsin that can tune good? I've heard Reptile probably has the best rep for tunes on here and I could arrange a trip there if he still does it.

Or you could buy my turbo kit in the for sale section and run whatever times you want pretty much.

But a rocker setup with an intercooler can get you into the high 12's with a good driver.

in wisconsin? maybe. i think there is a guy in racine or kenosha, but otherwise fastkatt is in the rockford area in IL. make a post in the wisconsin thread in the midwest section about a tuner, his name is bound to pop up.

How beneficial would it be to switch tranny to the 3.29(?) GT tranny with HD swap? During the summer I drive my camaro and firebird so I can have the car down for an extended period of time.

Dan is a great guy, he does work on W & H bodies, has a 13sec SSEI Bonnie. PMing him here tho won't get you many results, as he is on of the Admins to GMForum.com Go there and pm him. Hes not on this site very often but is on GMForum religiously.

Thanks for all the replies so far. Still doing research between the costs of a cam and rockers. I think the deciding factor for me at this time is if I have to pull the heads to do springs for the rockers then I almost might as well do a cam. The cost difference is only about $150-200 but the time difference is pretty big but most of the goes out the window with pulling the heads. Can I do the 1.9's w/o springs? I see a lot of claims about keeping stock shift points and it's ok.

This is right where I want to be with my '05 Comp G. Nice info here. Although, I do need to go a bit further with the L32 as far as being safe.

I bought 1.9 rockers and people had conflicting views on whether or not springs would be necessary.. I went ahead and bought them.. Heads don't need to be pulled to do them though.

You'd be running a safer mid-low 13 if you were Intercooled.

Well that's encouraging news. I've always used a c-clamp style valve spring compressor. Would the LS6 springs be sufficient for what I'm trying to do?

Also for what my goals are if it becomes in the budget would just the cheaper ZZP intercooler be suffcient? Would I be better off rockers/intercooled ($1000) or cam/no intercooled($600-700)?

The short stack intercooler isn't even worth it. I'd go with an XP cam and a stage 2 IC. It should be under $1500 by the time you get gaskets.

Paying a little more to do it right the first time is always the best option.

Mileage is better with 3.29s until about 70mph. Drivability is not effected. Gt's, regal gs's and newer grand prix's come stock with these gears and get 1 less mpg on the highway and 2 MORE mpg city.

It's gonna be hard to go deep 13's with no intercooler on rockers. But it is possible. If you get any cam it will be easy. My pb is 13.2 with the mods in my Sig on a 3.3 pulley and bald all-seasons and a small cam

The VS cam should be close to the same as doing rockers. So $555 for everything to put the cam in. $205 for headers, $100 for plugs/fluids/dremel/air grinder bits. $50 for the pulley Port the blower/intake/throttle body (not sure on the intake tbh). Then go and get a tune. So i'm looking at $910. Intercooler can be added at a later date if I want to go further. Put in a few of the other things that come up and I should be able to stay close to my $1000 goal (preferably) Seem like a good plan?
