Basically it comes down to unmetered air getting into the engine...and you don't want that to be honest.

One thing I always told people when they asked if I was going polish parts or make things really nice under the hood.

I keep the wiring need, keep the engine clean and all parts are reasonable looking. However the coolest parts of the engine are not visible from it's outside, and none of the parts are visible when the hood is down and the car is driving. My car was a daily driver, therefore it did so with the hood down.

Besides..once the car was pulling away, the only thing they could see was the tail light. Therefore I modded to help them with knowing what kicked their ass. The last thing they'd see (excuse the poor camera skills)

Ummm... I'm a little confused here. How does venting crankcase pressure have any affect on the tune or what goes through the MAF or create a vacuum leak?

Positive Crankcase Ventilation ... if you open up the crankcase aka valve cover breather, the air can then get sucked in through the pcv into the intake behind the maf sensor. This allows unmetered (not measured by maf) air into the engine. Which then fubars your fueling etc.

C'mon...you know you want a lit Pontiac on the butt of your car.
