What heat range plug did you have in? Id run 103's or 104's in it
when i 1st got my car i had a misfire and come to find out the tip on cyl. #4 was gone. but i have no damage to the engine from what i know. he may not have damage. u never know
It's always nice to hope...but with no flow mods and high compression...I highly doubt it.
Pull the plugs and put 103's in it, and hope that the damage was just isolated to plug. Id have a shop bore scope the effective cylinders and see if the piston looks like a dog chewed on it
But heat really doesn't cause that kind of damage really...something has to physically cause that damage...
Bookmark this...best plug images to date.

well yea i understand his reason since he didnt have flow mods but i did. idk where the tip went off my spark plug. maybe ill find it when i pull the motor lol
You won't find it...it'll be burned up in the combustion chamber...what you will find...is a chunk of your piston missing.
maybe the spark plug just got dropped and the piece broke off outside the engine lol. i will never know since i bought the car with a misfire and it was that simple spark plug fix
I just hope its not as bad as some of you say
judging by the fact you had stock plugs in there. Im afraid it prob isnt good
well im ready for the worst. But if i do need a new block should i get another l26 or a l32
So i am planning on the worst case Here are my new plansAny imput would be greatly appricated, i am on a budget!
- Used L26 Bottom end
- either s1x or xp cam
- 110# Crow Springs
- Double roller timing chain
- SD Headers

Skip the double roller honestly...you REALLY don't need it. You can get Crow 105's which what I'm guessing your talking about...OR...get a VS cam and use the factory valvetrain. Just a few options there. If you do get the Double Roller...the crank gear will have to be machined down so it doesn't crack or make contact with the oil pump cover
isnt that the part you remove
What?
nevermind thats the balance shaft you remove
