My stock mufflers are getting holes in them so I'm gonna have to replace them soon. So I figured since I gotta do it anyway, and it seems like everyone here likes magnaflows (and I've heard clips and like them too) I'd get some of those. The thing is I just don't have the $ to do a full exhaust now. Do you think it'll sound good or like crap? Also where would be the best place to get them and are their better sounding models than others? (P.S. I only have a intake now and plan on downpipe soon after muffs). Thanks

You dont need to do a full exhaust, unless you're pushing out big numbers. Just Have a shop cut the stock mufflers off, and weld the new ones in.

As for the actual muffler, I'd just go with you're personal choice, everyone has their own taste.

Also, you'd be much better off getting Speed Daddy headers, and a few band clamps (total around $200) instead of getting a DP. The install is more extensive, but the headers flow much, much better, and you'll help get rid of more knock with them, than just a DP.

I had 2 diff. DP's in mine, then headers. I should have just gotten headers to begin with.

As far as the sound, if you leave you resonator, and get decent mufflers, it will sound good, take the Res. out and get ****ty mufflers (like me), it'll be loud, and annoying.

Or...if you don't ever plan on dropping pulley sizes or anything anytime soon...go have the mufflers put on AND have the U-Bend taken out.

So don't even bother with full until I wanna go big. And I'm not good with exhausts and I do want SD's so you think any exhaust shop or mechanic can put in headers? Thanks guys.

Yeah, any shop can do it, but they'll charge more than the headers cost. There are write-ups on this site, that tell you exactly how to install them. Installing them yourself would take a days worth of work (6-8hours or so, if its your first time) but it would save you $200+ dollars.

ORRR....you could just buy Blue's car, and have everything done, and one of the best sounding GP's around.

Sounds wicked Blue, I'm kinda in the same boat as Ryan, my res is cracked, but, i'm having more trans problems, so, that comes first... I did a ghetto fix on the crack with some copper permatex, it quieted it down, hopefully it'll hold til after I fix the tranny...

Because it's a V8. Only sixers that sound good are the Nissan VQ/RB or 'Yota motorz 2JZ's...

Stick to a high flow cat or no cat setup with a big resonator and quiet mufflers. Trust us...we've been there...
