I have been trying to see what KR I have. Tried the Droid with Torque ap, didn't show anything. I bought an aeroforce gauge. Didn't show anything. I've been showing 11.2 boost on both gauges. This morning, 34 degrees outside, on the aeroforce I hit 13 lbs of boost and as much as 4.5 to 5.0 in KR. I'll try it again when it warms up outside. Opinions?

There's a app on droid to see if you have kr? How much is safe? I hopefully get my aeroforce today and kinda scared to see what mine is hitting.

    KR season is coming boys....

You should have a plog at LEAST on that car if you wanna run that 3.6 in the winter.

Sell the DP/PLOG setup...get some Speed Daddy's. I don't see an intake on your list...granted...that won't help fight KR much...so...I'd try the headers. Being as cheap as they are now you can almost break even selling a DP/PLOG and buying those headers.

I've thought about headers but never really cared for them on a daily driver.

knock is more common in winter because colder air temperatures increase boost and timing.

you need a tune, there is a parameter table in my DHP called air temp vs timing table (or something like that) this table comes in handy when weather changes.

0 Degrees kr is optimal as long as the car was tuned for maximum hp without knock.
maximum timing without knock does not always yield max horsepower.
5 degrees is ok as long as it starts dropping off as rpms go up. Any knock will start decreasing engine life, since knock is the piston skirt hitting the cylinder walls.

During the winter you should see less knock because the heat causes denotation. If you look at stock IAT spark advance correction table you'll see the hotter it is the more timing taken out. As seen here:

Most tuners will tune this table to subtract spark advance as temperature, volume efficacy(including boost) or rpm increases.

So if tuned correctly, you shouldn't see any knock at any temperature.

It shouldnt drop off as the RPM goes up....

Very few peoples cars are tuned for multiple air temps...
