I use Mobil 1 5w-30 every 3k with the bigger filter. Thinking about using castrol edge on the next change to see if it runs cleaner through the changes.

if you want to use synthetic use it if you wanna use conventional use it
main thing is dont go over oil change intervals and use quality filters

I just got my GP and changed the oil to Mobil 1 5w/30 with an m1-101 filter and I can't believe how much easier it 'rolls' down the road. I would definitely run synthetics.

Am I the only one that has never noticed oil make a difference in performance whether it had synthetic or GoJo (with the grit) in it?

I run Mobil 1 oil and Pureone or mobil 1 / K&N filters. I run synthetic because it doesn't darken near as fast from heat and holds up better overall. Not because i've ever felt an effect in performance. There are plenty of writeups on synthetic vs conventional oil on the net.

However as Bio248 stated there are plenty of threads on this subject and these threads always start arguments.

I use conventional oil, as the service records from the previous owner also indicate oil change intervals of 4-7k miles from day one with standard oil. It now has 150,000 and is very clean inside and runs perfect, only uses about 8oz ever 3000 miles.
I change the oil around 3-4k miles, and use A/C or STP filter. (pf47)
If it aint broke, I aint gunna fix it with synthetic.
