I have a 2004 gtp with 140,000 miles. parked it on sunday, everything was fine. Started it on monday morning and the lifters were clattering. I checked the oil pressure with a mechanical guage to find I only had 4psi of oil pressure. I have changed the oil pump and inspected the pick up tube. I still have only 4-5psi of oil pressure(lifters still clattering from bleed down). What am I missing. To my knowledge the cam bearings and main bearings are not hurt. Car has not been driven. Any suggestions?

It could be anything really....oil pumps aren't well known for failling, but if you have one bearing that let go then you won't have oil pressure either.

Check the bypass spring and piston in the oil filter housing, maybe the spring collapsed or broke?

You spun a bearing then. I know a guy that spun a cam bearing just driving down the road. Not common, but it has happened. Time to get an l26 short block and cam it
