Well after doing alot of reading tonight i found out that i wasted alot of money, first thing i read was that i dont really need a catback system, all i need is mufflers ? i had a full 3in slp powerflo catback, i did have slp headers which was good for topend which sucked because i liked my lowend torque. Anyways i had a zzp stage 1 tb, well i heard thats not really needed until a 3.0 pulley or soo and i had a 3.4 pulley on. soo the 2 reasons why i made this post is because i want to know what i really need ? I did order a wizaired cai, i know i need a 180 t-stat, plugs but idk if i should just wait on colder plugs until i get a bigger mod on. I'm also gonna keep the stock s/c pulley on until i get a few big mods on it. Well i figured since i dont need to waste money on cat back and ported tb thats about $800 soo i'm thinking about getting a intercooler on a nearly stock gtp ? I think a ported s/c is a good buy ? Ohh i almost forgot i'm gonna get a mail order pcm. Possibly a DHP ? and for the intercooler i was thinking about the wbody stage 2 intercooler. and i defently want 1.9 rockers, i installed 1.9 rockers on my old old gtp and they were nice! I might get some other stuff if it isnt a waste, maybe the prj 10.3mm wires ? Then maybe this winter i will save up for a TEP tranny.

    definitely read that^^^

generally a 3.4 setup is colder plugs, a 180 T-stat, some kind of intake, be it a cai or fwi, a tune, and a 3in downpipe and plog or headers. and the rockers would be a good addition. do reasearch on porting, there are a lot of guys that do it themselves or do it for other guys cheaper than buying the product from a private seller. as far as wires, stock seem to do well enough. i might be forgetting a part, i have that weird feeling...

an intercooler probably would be necessary until a smaller-than-3.4 pulley is put on. and then you'll be looking at injectors and some other things. make sure you read that thread, great info there.

an intercooler with a 3" downpipe = 3.2 pulley or less on decent timing.

i'm going to attempt to figure out the concept here, i'm sure Bio will correct me if i'm wrong.

with an intercooler, the air getting forced into the cylinder will be at a lower temperature, but it's the same amount of air and therefore you won't gain any horsepower. however, since lower temperature means a lower volume in this case, you can force more air into it with the smaller pulley, and that's where you gain the hp.

that's the best i can do without giving a physics lesson. anybody wanna say i'm wrong?

correct. however, i never wanted to run an intercooler for a couple reasons:

    1) way too much **** that goes along with it. intecooler core, coolant lines, front mount heat exchanger, and a pump the might die at any time.

    2) it creates a restriction in the system, although very marginal.

however, for someone willing to drop the dime and make sure they have the correct failsafes in place (IE, interconnecting your pump with the BBV so if it dies then then BBV dumps boost and you dont murder your motor) then it is probably the best bang for your buck out there next to a cam.

Any body running or know people that had luck with the ssc intercooler from zzp? I am looking into one but want to know if it is good enough or should I just go for the full-size one, I am running a 3.5" pulley so I just want to cool the air enough since my power goes to s**t once my engine gets past 160* degrees.

It did...until it blew the doors off the T/A at the time and they couldn't have that so they took it off and threw a dessert plate on the end of the blower snout and called it a pulley.
