Leave the stock coils on your 04. Stock coils are superior to MSD's. Ask anyone.

    LEAVE THE COILS ON...

MSD coils were the worst 150 I spent...
after about a month, I had one split entirely between the contacts...
yes they are still on...because I had them replaced for free. If they go again, its back to OEM for me

I ran msd's on my comp g since I bought the car. Swapped back to stockers and didn't notice a change. In my experience they were equivalent in performance. They're really for eye candy. I'll sell you mine

i upgraded my Stock Coils to MSD coils

    I like them

But my stock ones were kinda Worn and corroded

And since i was replacing my wires to the red MSD Wires

i figured why the hell not.

I'm pretty happy with my choice

Save that money and spend it on a PCM or exhaust work... IMO its a waste of money.

Yeah, if anything it's a visual upgrade. No real power or anything added, but they do look good

They aren't necessary, but they sure look better than the stockers.... I actually had then previously on my car and had two of them go bad, so I don't think I'll be buying them again.

paint your stock ones for the price of a can of paint. paying for MSD coils because they are red has got to be the dumbest thing you can do.

I've got to agree with bio there. If mine go bad again, OEM and Painted for me.
To be entirely honest SS98, it would be smarter to stick with the originals, but if you do want to spend that money on them go for it.

    just my $.02

The 04+ GPs have the best coil packs offered by GM to date for the 3800 II/III. If one needs to upgrade or fix a coil pack issue, grab a set of 04-08 and call it a day.

So will the 04+ coils fit my 3.1? Mine are looking pretty bad and I may need to replace them soon.
    GP is gone...
