On a side note I went to return the coils I bought and the SES light went out half way to the parts store. So far so good with a gutted cat. I was wondering was the cat pipe on the 97-03 GP's different from the 04+ ? I can see the benefits of a 3" system but the stocker didn't look half as bad as I thought it would be....restriction wise.

Thanks again to everyone that posted and helped me out! GTP has been running good since gutting the cat and installing the spark plug no-foulers on the rear O2 sensor. Thanks again guys

with my headers with no cat the light came on for 10 mins or so then went away and i have not had any more trouble with it.

you should be good to go now.

Little update. The motor is holding up well since the rebuild. I'm going to be changing the oil soon so we'll see what that looks like. But otherwise its been running great, DIC says 25MPG so far for her.

Changed the oil today at 3200miles since the rebuild. First good sign was a spotless drain bolt, oil came out dark brown, not black and after draining the pan into a jug I found no residue, metal or debris in the drain pan. Yeah I know oil analysis would give me the final answer, but for now it runs cool, smooth and is getting decent mileage again for her.

Yup I wanted to see the first oil change after that it's her decision on who does it. I won't go there about the getting any from here still.....she's been looking really good lately.
