Ok so i have the JP Double Roller that i installed a couple of weeks ago. Ive been slowly putting my build together and have been contemplating what to do with it. I was deciding to either sell it and get a Rollmaster Double Roller or have the Chamfer machined on the crank gear. I have decided to get the chamfer machined more so the whole stretching chain issue would be resolved and i can live freely without ever having to deal with that crap. But with that being said, what would it have to be machined to for the chamfer to be corrected? like how much has to be machined off?

someone correct me if im wrong, but if you bought it recently then they are the same thing no matter which one you buy.

however, the crank gear no one can tell you how to machine it. every crank is machined to telerance, but its not like they are all the same. you have to match the chamfer on YOUR crank to get it right and make sure it fully seats. its also not so much that it fully seats, but that the chain itself runs completely parallel to the motor and wont run at and angle. if it does the chain will eat itself and eventually break.

here is a GREAT thread to read on the double rollers:

    ClubGP Message Forum troubleshooting

im sure youve seen it, but if you havent then make sure you read it. also, another person that might be a good resource for you to contact is GR8RacingFool. he knows his stuff and can probably push you in the right direction.

It "normally" doesn't run that much to have it machined. The best thing to do, is take the double roller gear, and then your stock gear to the shop, and tell the guy to make this (double roller gear) to look like this (stock gear). Make sure he see's what you're talking about, and then it's a matter of a few minutes.

true that. forgot that its as easy as matching the stock gear. you still need to make sure it runs true though. not sure if anyone has ever ran shims or if it was ever necessary.

I'm not sure, the two that I've had done seem to be pretty darn close. Of course, as long as I'm running the "little" springs, I'll never do the double roller again.

Yeah, got it and replied. Got about 2 weeks of PM's that I'm going through, and it's taking me a little bit to get them all answered.

That is what I was wondering since after getting my RM last night as long as the stocker and the RM gear are the same height sitting next to each other then they are good to go...right?
