Ok here it goes, I started gettting intermittent SES lndicator several months ago, shortly after I had a recall performed for fire hazard and I started using a diferent gas station so I switched back to Shell. The problem would come and go. In reading the manual it said something about the gas cap, replaced it and still intermittent. Autozone tried to read the codes but had no luck, T/S that problem and found a blown fuse to the OBD port and the cigarette lighter. I remember one of the codes as P0102. Attempted to clean MAF. Autozone suggested also changing plugs and wires, done and the problem persisted, The car appears to run fine when warm. When I start the car in the morning and after work it often stalls out and then it will surge,RPM changing 1+K. Bye the time I get out of the subdivision or parking garage it seems fine. I put the car up for the summer in favor of two wheeled transportation but now I am switching back to the GTP. I disconnected the battery and reset the codes so that when they returned I would be starting fresh.. The two codes I have at this time are P0102, P1404. My question is where to start, which one comes first and can one cause the other to latch? Can this problem be related to the heat shield recall repair? Can lower octane fuel cause this problem? All advice will be appreciated.

P0102 is a MAF low voltage code. I had that on mine and it would keep blowing the fuse for the MAF. Turns out that my O2 wire had dropped onto my headers and shorted out. If you keep popping fuses, check for a short. I'd have to go back and look at a wiring schematic to see what all is driven by that fuse, but I think it's the MAF, EGR and O2 sensors. P1404 looks to be EGR related, so I'd bet it's something either with the fuse or it's a short. Or, I suppose you could be unlucky enough to have your MAF and EGR both go at the same time, but that's rather unlikely.
