I love my ZZP's... TOGs are good as well
oh i know the headers themselves are made of 304 stainless, but i was told the flange is steel and will rot off with mileage??? thats what i was told but i don't know
Well if it does you can buy another set of them for the price of the zzp ones.
yeah thats true but i rather do it just once.... how many miles you have on yours
i put like 25k a year on the car. was installation easy or was there some massaging for these
I had my heads off when I put the rear in so my install was not typical.
I too have SSAC's, and I've put maybe 1 or 2k miles on them. They aren't all that fun to install, you have to rock the motor forward and pull the valve cover off and wiggle and shove just perfectly and pull the tranny dipstick over.
It's a booger to put in but the power gains are worth knuckle bustin. I suggest picking up some nice band clamps and getting the DP welded, mine leaks like a son of a gun ( i can hear it) because i need another clamp for the x-over to the collector.
ALSO IMPORTANT!!!! Be sure to pick up an 02 extension harness for the front 02 sensor!
How hard are the zzp headers to install? I'm still trying to decide between zzp and ssac.
I have the SSAC put them on a while back and to get the rear in alls you have to do is rock motor forward and take the Trans dipstick out and they slide right in like no removing the Valve cove no pushing I tried for house and could not get them in. Took the dipstick out and they slid right in. I have about 10 thou on mine so far and I love them. Got the TDC FWI and thing sounds mean as hell now. I thought the same about the price and man they look good in there and they function well.
i love my pacerusters
Ok rarely anymore do I get a chance to read a full post on here but I had time today.
1. When installing SSAC headers, do yourself a favor and get it on a lift... do the rear header first from under the car, and let it dangle dont tight just yet.
2. Lower car, now its time to put the front header in, along with the crossover... make sure both collectors and xover are connected before tightening.
3. Tighten bolts on front and Rear. ( failed to mention motor should be rocked forward. )
4. raise car and connect dp to Catback.. this can be a ***** just grab the catback and pull it forward as far as possible and you will be able to attach the clamp.
5. Put clamps on DP and Xover.
6. Grind EGR tube down 1/8 of an inch to allow it to seal or you too will end up with a 6-month-EGR-leak-that-sounded-just-like-Lifter-tick-til-you-do-a-cam-swap-and-find-out-it-was-an-EGR-Leak
7. put everything back on double check then triple check every thing. then start. drive. enjoy...
hope this helps SSAC's are awesome and even more awesome for the price... consider yourself briefed
The SLP's and SSAC's are ten times easier from the bottom up... trust me you S&S user you!!! but seriously they are a lot easier from the bottom of the car due to the dp/rear header combo...
