Well in September I put on an SSIC, and it was working great and all but I ended up buying a Stage 2 zzp core to go with the rest of the new build. Is it pretty necessary to go to a larger fmhe? Any input/advice?
Thanks

Well it's not driven often, at all. Almost two months since I have driven it. Just making sure that if i spend all of this money on an ic, its going to do its job. Just curious as to what others are using on their setups.
If you want good looks and strong fins, the PRJ rad is the way to go, I love mine...
No cutting up the hood latch or anything else required, its truely a bolt on item...
I didn't see that on prj's site. Is there anywhere else to get it?
Anybody know what the PRJ one runs? Similar to the price of some of the ZZP i/c radiators? Would like to get that PRJ one, if anyone can find if they are sold elsewhere or specs I would appreciate it.
I use the zzp #4 radiator, fits great right where the AC condenser is supposed to be. Bad shot but heres a pic:
If you upgrade your core, it would be wise/most noticable to upgrade everything. Bigger lines, better pump, bigger FMHE. A local went from an SSIC to a S2 IC and noticed very little gain since he left everything from the SSIC installed and just used the S2 core.
Here is the FMHE I will be using. A few people on clubgp have made it fit without removing the A/C and from what I hear I will have an easier time since there is more room in Regals to work with.
eBay Motors: VW GOLF JETTA SCIROCCO RADIATOR 84-92 ALUMINUM CORE NEW (item 250222363581 end time Mar-11-08 13:48:40 PDT)
Apparently thats exactly what zzp uses as a #2 FMHE.
What?? Did you even see the dimentions and sizes?? Overall and core? Those meet #4s numbers.
Radiator 2 is standard for our Stage 2 intercooler kits. It has a 20.6x12.7x1.3” inch core. Overall measurements are 24.25x13x2. It is rated at 65,400 BTU, has a fluid capacity of .37 gallons and a dry weight of 4.25 pounds. This is the minimum size you should consider for a full size intercooler kit.
Radiator 4 is what we run in our record setting GTP. It is too large to fit in the normal install location. It is recommended for hard core builds, where the AC condenser has been removed and this unit can be installed in that location. It has a 26.6x12.7x1.3” inch core. Overall measurements are 30.25x13x2. It is rated at 84,500 BTU, has a fluid capacity of .46 gallons and a dry weight of 5.5 poundsIT MEASURES 13 INCHES TALL, 30.5 INCHES WIDE, 2 INCHES THICK, AND THE PLASTIC TANKS ARE 1 3/4 INCHES WIDE MAKING THE CORE 26.5 INCHES WIDE
Well I guess I just need to make a decision then on what to buy. Radiator and lines will be an easy decision, I just need to figure out if the Flojet will be enough. Thanks for the good info and opinions.
Edit: I heard that about the VW radiator as well, but it definitely is more along the lines of the zzp stg 4.
Ah good call. Yeah i meant #4 i don't know wtf i was thinking. measurements ftw.
