i wasnt saying a tune being a waste......was talking about not being able to hook it up and doing a complete tune, i know a tune isnt a waste just referring to a mail order and i dont really know if my mods would make a difference with a tune or not just dont know too much about it thats why i ask questions.....
if you are getting a mail order tune you have to have specific mods that fits the tune. They do not change the tune to fit your mods. Depending on which site you get it from it says what they recommend for mods. usually a 3.4 with headers or plog/dp, air intake, colder plugs, etc.
No mail order tune is made for headers...they are made for a 3" DP and possibly a powerlog manifold...headers will make you run leaner
ok so i have a power log , 3 in dp, 180 degree thermo, stock pulley and a kn cone filter, basically eliminated the air box, do u think i need one? or should i get a pulley and do it? i was going to get a 3.5 pulley, i am having trouble finding anyone around michigan to do a tune....and advice would be great, i was under the assumption that i could just get a mail order pcm and it would just coincide with the mods i have
you need a way to scan, but after that get a 3.5(may run rich, but safer) or 3.4 and get the dhp tune. you need to drop pulley sizes and run premium for sure for any mail order tune.
do these come with the top speed limiter removed?
Just ordered my v1.0 PCM through 3800performance.com along with al104's and a new gatorback belt(part number as listed above.) Once it arrives, I will get the pulley puller and pulley(MPS system of course) and finally the 3.4 setup should be complete for now. Anything that I missed?
replaced about 2k ago...they are good to go
so if i get the dhp with a stock pulley will it be of? or is it only for when u drop pulley sizes?
It'll work fine with a stock pulley but it is optimized for a 3.4"
so i will prolly have less of a chance of knock with it? or hard to say
