Just went back to the 3.4. I had 5 psi on the stock 3.8. With the 3.4 i have 7psi at WOT. I have ported blower, lim, tb, 1.9 rockers, headers, full exhaust.
Excessively ported blower?
I dont know, its not excessively ported its the same i do for all my other customers. Before the ported blower i had the 3.4 on there, 10 psi of boost max. When i ported the blower, went to the stock 3.8 pulley and observed 5 psi. This weekend i installed the 1.9 modified rockers and it had slightly more pull but not that noticeable. Yesterday i put on the 3.4 again and even though it only has 7 psi versus the 10 before, it has way more power like i can light the tires up from a 20mph roll. This is keeping in mind that i dont have a tuned pcm either so i know there is more to be had.
Btw, the rotor coating is good in tact also.
at the top of second at 6k i saw 8psi. top of first it was 7.
back on the stock tune shifting at 5500rpm i see about 6 at the top of first.
the consensus is...........there is no consensus...all different
A tune is done by adjusting the valves in the muffler to change the exhaust note.
No no no...that's the nitrous.
or a flute..........damn kids......
are you kidding me? i know what a damn tune is. i was asking what kind of tune. no, a tune is not a tune. does he have someone doing his tune, meaning is it easily accessible for him to change something if he needs to. did he buy a zzp 1.0, is it dhp 1.0/5. wtf, come on people.
Dude...you said it...you asked the question we replied...now see if you would have taken the time to be that specific earlier you wouldn't have had the smartass comments you got.
It was probably a mail order tune...and if you read in his kill stories thread about him running at the track with a bone stock PCM. His old one was a DHP but toasted his motor because he had a high compression setup. And yes...a tune is a tune...no matter how you slice it...just one being better than the other or from a different "tuner" of sorts. If you want to argue about it more feel free to send me a PM.
