Where can i pick up some LS7 lifters?
id seriously try ls1tech.com or other lsx forums, seems like most forums have hella good deals and i wouldnt think they'd be hard to find. Def stay out of the stealerships like the others said.
A set is pretty cheap from gmpartsdirect. Ordering a set of lifters for the 3800 *should* get you the LS7 lifters, assuming they don't have any old stock lying around. Most people buy the set of 16 for the LSx because they specifically say they're the updated design from the LS7.
The part numbers have been posted on here, I'm sure a search would turn them up.
Alright ima do that. But what about the whole MLS head gaskets bio was talking about? Why cant i use the copper spray for sealing when thats what its used for? Ima put my lifters up for sale in the for sale section.
A lot of people run the MLS gaskets. I've heard that the best procedure is to drill out the rivets, clean and spray each layer. People have said they've found dirt between the layers stock. Whether it's worth it is up to you.
is this the part number to the LS7 lifters, 20-12499225?
gm part # 12499225 www.gmpartshouse.com 120.00 new. unless anyone else has a cheaper place they can get them from let me know also. hope this helps you out.
haha 132.00 is better than 149.99 where i see them.
just use stock head gaskets, seriously. i wouldnt even risk the MLS for fear of having to take the motor apart again. i didnt see it, but did you get head studs? now is a FANTASTIC time to buy them.
X2 on he studs...I wish I would have bought them back in the day...would have saved me a BUNCH of money on the multiple TTY head bolt sets I bought. Get them from ARP. IIRC mine were about $116 shipped from Texas Speed...yes the comany that was ruining LSx motors from their bad heads/cams LOL
Yup bio i already got ARP Head Studs. U gotta answer my question first before i decide to run stock head gaskets. Am i going to be able to run stockers with the IS4 Heads?
Here some new pics.
Omg who ported that badass blower for you?
Omg u did! haha.
Yea, i know.
I still say you should put the snail on and be done with it.
Lol what do u mean Logan?
actually everything looks great and i admire you for going this far with it. that is a BIG setup to undertake as quickly as you did. good work.
as far as the gaskets go, theyll work. the heads are still the same size and shape, so why wouldnt the regular ones work? they are way easier to get to seal in my opinion. if you feel like taking the time (and possibly redoing later) with the MLS then go for it.
