I need to check mine for damage. I was having a vibration at WOT sometimes. I just installed AGX's/ Vogtlands/ strut mounts/ new axles and 12" brakes. The periodic vibration at WOT is way worse. It was so bad this morning from a 10mph roll that I thought I was getting wheel hop.

Could I have a bad mount? If so, other than the one above the LF cv axle, where are the others so I can check?

    Thanks,

    Dean

It's most likely vibration associated with lowering. You lower the vehicle and it changes the geometry of the driveline. If it is in fact vibration associated with lowering, VinnieGTP makes some spacers you put above and below you engine and tranny mount. This raises the engine up and restores the driveline geometry. When i put mine in i decide to put new mounts in too.

Lower our cars too much, the CV shaft no longer floats in the main housing, it bottoms out. There ya go.

Run shorter axles, raise the engine and the transmission, or shorten the dog bones pulling the back of the engine and transmission UP, tilting the whole unit forward releaving the CV shafts from the binding.

I guess I'm perplexed because it was vibrating before it was lowered (only under WOT and not all of the time) but now it does it worse (only under WOT and not all of the time).

My DP is making contact with my sway bar and I wonder if that is where the vibrations are coming from. That could make sense. It has been hitting for a while. I guess a bad mount might allow that to happen.

I may try the spacers, inspect the mounts and maybe go with the shorter dogbones. Has anyone used the shorter dogbones?

it's also possible that your cv axles were a bit worn, and the geometry change has made the situation worse.

Is you swaybar installed upside down? If not, it needs to be with a 3" DP.

    ^some times it does.

I have a 3" DP and a GMPP front bar, and didn't need to flip mine. Every car is different.

You also have the smallest of aftermarket bars, if it really even makes a difference.

Wow, holy old thread retrieval Batman. Well, at least you searched...

DP is an abbreviation for down-pipe (comes off rear exhaust manifold).
