if you want a spare set of rotors instead of shipping yours out somewhere i have some that are pretty much junk because one of the rotors had a knick in it and now they bind. good for a core.
If i get yours, they might be charging me for rotors too.I don't know how it works.
Thank you and I'll be keeping you update.
The rotors can not come apart or seperate. Therfore they can not be coated.
It can be done, but it ain't cheap. This is the only place I know of that does it, but I don't know anyone that's used them.
The High Speed Lab, Roots-type Supercharger Rebuild Services for All Eaton Superchargers
Jet Hot coats rotors. IT's 100 bucks a peice. That is if they were able to be taken apart.
I'll try to take mine apart tonite and shoot some pics.I have everything apart and parts.I just need to do the rotors and powder coat the cone and case. thanks again guys.
it has been done, but when they put it back together it shredded the rotors b/c they didnt get them clocked right, as they have no splines, just pressed in place. You would have to have pro do it, and its gonna cost like $800 at least. If you need a set i have one that are in good condition, a few spots that can be touched up.
Okay, here's the deal HSL said (Wayne-Shop foreman). I spoke with him for like 7mins and he was very honest saying I'll loose like 18HP without the coating. If mine is not making noise or leaking he advised me to just put it back and run it till it makes noise. He can do the rotors for $127 and the gear assembly will have to be rebuild since he's taking it apart. the whole deal is $300 to rebuild and $127 to recoat. Both has to be done together. I will have to ship him the one i have and he'll send me one or he can ship one for me and send the core back.
The only thing that bothers me is the alignment. I need a bad set to take apart and I don't want to dissassemble mine (because it can still be use) and then can't get it togther right.
its gonna require a 60 ton press and some ingenuity to make a holder so you dont break the case.
Just buy a used rotor pack. Not worth that much money. Hell I think you can get a new rotor pack for that money.
I did what i promised this evening and it was completely disassembled. The hardest thing was to find the right seal to replace what i took out.So I'll be looking for those seals!
so did you disassemble the rotor pack or just the supercharger itself?
grrr, I think I remember seeing some of them for sale somewhere a while back, but for the life of me, I can't figure out where it was! If I can remember, I'll let you know.
I'm not sure they were sold separately, though.
Looks like this is turning into a "Dead End". I cannot find anything on timing the rotors "perfectly".
