here is the latest design, this one is gen5 but same for gen3. Moved the core over so that it allows more room around the alternator area. Tell me what you think.

dude, im liking how youre actually doing your own work for these. good job.
now, when you say you moved the core over does that mean how you accounted that the genV outlet is closer to the snout compared to a genIII blower outlet?
not exactly, of course the inlet/outlet is moved over for the gen5, but i was referring to the actual core being moved over towards the tb side, as you can see it now actually protrudes into the bbv hole, like zzps. it allows more room near the alternator back corner. Thanks for the input!!!
Logan
I'm just waiting for you to put this thing on YOUR car
lol i dont have a gen 5 so its kinda impossible...
cant make a gen 3?
omg why does everyone want me to put one on my car?!
I dont have the money right now to build myself one, everyone i make i must sell. Later on i will slap one on mine but for the moment money is tight. Of course i make gen3 units as well as ssic versions.
so that we know it works like its supposed to.
Yeah something like this you really should test out before you sell in order to prove there will be solid results. Regardless this is really cool, though that core looks like it may be a bit restrictive, something with the fins spaced further apart might be worth looking into
Can you measure the actual core size
I would like to see if I can find other cores that might work better.
the more fins per inch the better. If you used something like zzp uses for the ssic is why the thing doesnt work great. I know this works good, ive had the aluminum version on my car before but took off and sold it. The actual core is 7.5"x8.5"x2". I would like someone to find a better core that is best suited for this app. and is easily and readily available.
Logan
he is right, the more fins per inch is best. restrictive or not it will cool way better. just throw a bunch smaller pulley on it and run with it.
I have one that might be better.
Just waiting to hear back on a few questions I asked about the core.
I'll post core dimensions once I verified them
I need to find out how many water channels this one has along with inlet and outlet diameters.

are both halves phenolic or is the top something else? also where do you get the phenolic from. i've got a similar project in the works.
yup, both halves are phenolic. just go to a supplier online. it costs a bit for the materials, but worth it. Also, i have to point out that i might be discontinuing this product as im getting ridiculed from various people online of my design/ workmanship. I originally intended this to help out people who couldnt afford zzps prices and at a decent design. I realize my work may not be perfect, but whos is? It works, functional, may not be the prettiest, but who cares? Just a thought.... venting some frustration i guess b/c these are not easy to make.
Logan
i wouldnt stop making these. you make them well and so long as they last and work then who cares? i would run one of them if i was planning on intercooling.
Don't discontinue something this good. some people just dont realize how big of a favor you are doing for the community. Keep up the good work.
