You need a Torx/Allen head bit and a rachet. The plug is on the snout, simply loosen that and suck the old out. A turkey bastor with a long rubber hose works best. Then purchase 1-2 bottles of GM Supercharger oil and squirt the new back in. Simple as that!
One of my favourite ways to ge the oil out is to get an old windex bottle and put the hose end in the snout and spray the oil out into the neck of the bottle. once you are finnished screw the spray bottle neck back into the bottle and store for the next swap.
I know not its not common to have, but I use my oil sampling pump to pull out the oil supercharger oil.
A used oil bottle fits perfectly to it so I just stick the tube down in the nose and suck out the old fluid into the used oil bottle and then pour in the new.
alright thx u guys for the info
just did mine 2 seconds ago its sooo simple dude ha i used a old windex squirter "yes i cleaned it first" ha
yes yes it did! i seriously almost blew chunks ha
well ur special =] jk bro ha
I am new to the whole supercharger and how often are you supposed to change the supercharger oil?
I took a gander at mine the other day, and at 26k it looks brand new. No bad smells either, but then I am a car guy so what smells like crap to one, might be a walk in the roses to another.
Merlin:
Thanks a bunch for the windex suggestion. My turkey baster was an el cheapo model, and kept letting what little fluid it would suck up run out before I could get the snout out of the hole.
For reference, I was cutting my teeth by changing the oil in the charger on my good friends 99 Park Avenue Ultra. From what I could tell, the fluid was oem at 70k.
Good Lord, that fluid looked like 20 year old brake fluid, and smelled like boiled buzzard pus from the 15th Century!!!!!!!!
I got about 7 ounces out of it, and refilled it to the bottom of the filler hole threads.
Anyway, What model of charger is on the 99 engines, and what model is on our newer 04 and up 3.8's
Don
God I wish S/C oil smelled like P.S. fluid...sure would make my life a lot easier
