If you break everything down, its all common problems with easy fixes. there isnt a car out there that doesnt have problems eventually.

the trick is to fully diagnose the problem

I don't see a single problem here, except the fact that you pointed out how troublesome our cars are But thats ok because as Nicholas said our parts are cheap, and finding someone to help with the labour isn't hard either.

IMO, some people ***** about the most minor or common maintence items on here and other places too. Its pathetic I think.

Those people SHOULDN'T be driving high mileage 10 year old cars IMO. They should be in debt and paying through the ass on a brand new car so they won't ***** and get there pretty little hands dirty. Thats how I honestly see it.

Grand Prixs are very realible, I have 2 currently. Don't make me list all the original parts on either cars, i'll be here all night. Other than maintence items over the years, they've been the best damn cars ever. And there very cheap and easy to maintance. I often hear what other idiots pay to work on there jap cars, I laugh my ass off everytime.

I've seen many come and go here (and ClubGP) and as i've said for many years, i'll outlast everyone here because i'll be keeping my white one forever unless it somehow gets totaled...

True Shawn, but if you think about it almost ANY car can be a DD and live forever with proper maintenance, I think the problem here is inexperienced guys posting every little problem they have because they don't want to mess something up with a car they just bought.

My car has 380,000 and up until recently ran as strong as the day from the Stealership. But that was improper maintenance and being really, really dumb. And on the Japanese cars, the reason people pay more to fix them is because they are usually bought with the intent to mod and I can't look at an Import without having a ton of previous work done to it, and shoddily at that. They are paying for the mistakes of others.

I took it as him saying OUR cars as in personally ours. Not the GP in general

I agree, but at the same time some people ***** and are too picky about the most minor things. Cars need maintence. If you don't plan to get off your ass and maintain your cars, buy a brand new one and leave the old cars to the people that know better. Some people have no business owning an old car, plain and simple.

The people i'm talking about with the jap cars don't have modded cars or know how to mod cars so it has absolutely nothing to do with that at all. I do know others like that though, but I wasn't referring to that.

I agree, some people shouldn't buy an older car but maybe they want the car for other reasons than it being cheap? If they buy an older car they should expect it to have problems. And maybe we wouldn't have the problem with people posting if they would use the friggen search feature which nobody seems to use

Agree again, I guarantee if you go on an Import forum there will be 3x as many problem threads as we have.

I've maintained this car myself and it's been great even though I beat the ever-livin' $hit out of it the first 4 years I had it. Now that it's my DD, well it has been all along but I have a toy now, I am treating it better cause I have the other one as my 'go fast' car.

If I wasn't looking for a SUV/club cab truck to haul the family/dogs around in, I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Don't put a smaller pulley on it without supporting mods...research before dropping pulley's...

OH...and don't neutral bomb the car...that might be catastrophic on the transmission

    lol

I'll admit it. I was stupid when I first got into the car. Still was fun. Now being older and knowing the car better, it gets treated a lot better.
