    Hey guys,

Well, for those of you who remember, I changed my LIM gasket and put everything back together, and now all I have to do is change the oil. The problem is I cant get my oil filler cap open and I cant seem to loosen the drain bolt on the oil pan, so is it possible that I can add extra oil to my engine (assuming i get the filler cap open) and then drive it ~2 miles to get the oil changed, or is it too risky?

Secondly, I drained the antifreeze, but all I can seem to find is the orange dexcool. I heard that orange dexcool causes these gasket seals to wear out and that green dexcool is better. Any thoughts.

Thirdly, and here is the 'I screwed up' part. I was reconnecting all the plugs, and I thought I had marked them all properly, but I have now ended up with one plug (3 pin/yellow colour) in front of the fuel rail, with no matching 2connector/receptacle. I'll try provide pictures tomorrow, but any idea as to what I missed?

Finally, anyone know any GTP experts in California near Ventura?

I'm almost done after a month, so its really frustrating to get stuck at this point, especially as its my first time doing such a major job!

    Cheers.

Well orange dexcool isn't really bad, it is made to fill holes. That's why it gunks up. Green stuff doesn't. As far as the antifreeze in your oil you should be fine driving it to get the oil changed. Just don't get into it. Why can't u get the oil pan plug out? Is it stripped? Use vise grips.

Hey guys, I ended up draining the oil pan and changing the filter and oil, but when I started her up, there was still white smoke coming out the exhausts. I shut her off and checked the oil dipstick, and it had turned milky, - so there's probably more coolant in the engine. Is this normal after a LIM gasket change, or is something wrong again?

Should I try drop the oil pan? Maybe there's still some coolant left in it? I know I didn't do the new LIM install wrong, and my head gaskets were fine, so I dont really know what else to do. Anyone with any advice?

Did you RVT the corners? Did you replace the head gaskets after you checked them (OEM ones can not be reused)? The only thing I can say if both of those are a yes drain the oil one more time and see if it is still milky. If it is you will just have to tear it back down and check everything again.

Freebeer: I did drain the oil after the LIM gasket change, and added new oil+filter, but after restarting it, the car still ran rough and after a couple of minutes idling I checked the oil dipstick and it had turned milky again.

I'm sorry 01GTP, I'm not really sure what RVT the corners means, unless you mean use the gasket sealant. I did that. I replaced the head gaskets.

I talked to a mechanic who said that sometimes in the oil pan there is still a little oil left no matter how much you drain out, and that maybe some of the old coolant-oil was in there and got sucked back into the engine or something.

I was talking about putting some type of sealent where the rubber sides meet the actual lim gaskets. Just try changing the oil again and see how it looks.
