Ok...so driving to work on Wednesday April 17th and two doe blast out onto the road right in front of me going about 50mph....I barely had time to get on to the brake before I nailed the second one with the driver's side front. She did a number on the car as noted on the before pic below..

I was able to do a pretty fair redneck fix (no offense to my redneck bros out there ) as shown below....

I now had a "Service Engine Soon" light on... took it to Autozone where they read the code and it is saying my MAF sensor needs to be replaced. I am wondering if this is correct? I know there is some....thing.... down in that corner behind the air filter, or in front if you're looking at the passage of air into the motor. You guys are the pro's here, just wondering if this makes sense or did I clip a wire of cause damage to that ..thing.. in front of the air filter (and what exacly IS that thing...lol) Thanks again for your help guys! You're corporately the best when it come to getting this stuff figured out!

the pics will show if you click on them...

The MAF sensor is in the neck of the throttle body. Maybe one of the filaments was damaged during the impact or maybe you sucked in some debris. It's a touch of a pain to get out unless you have the correct Torx tool but it can be done with patience and pliers if really necessary.
Here's a post with some images to help.

Trying to stay pretty close to stock now. Just a few bolt-ons for fun.
Trying to keep it alive, pretty, and fun.
