    Hey all,

    2001 GTP 3800 Supercharged 178000km (110000 mi)

My issue is I am noticing what I want to call a “flare up” between shifts. Perhaps tranny slip might be a good description? While driving my rpms increase by a few hundred while making the shift, but before actually making the shift. This only happens on the up shift and not the down shift. Regardless of outdoor temp and vehicle temp. No check engine or DTC.

    Before my issue..
I recently replaced spark plugs and wires at around their recommended interval and right after that is when I began to notice this “flare up” between shifts. Very slightly at first and then progressively bigger “flare ups”.

Is this coincidence and completely unrelated? Is this something I may have had for a while but only noticeable after replacing plugs and wires? Not my first spark plug rodeo.. but could something be wrong or faulty? Some sort or relearn process after a simple service like that? Something I may have unknowingly damaged in the process, as I’m not exactly a house cat crawling around in the engine bay. Or a dreaded transmission issue..

    What I’ve tried..
Changed transmission fluid and filter (no crazy findings to report. Little if any improvement).
Took to local shop and after an around the block test drive they labeled it as a transmission issue and put in some additive (little if any improvement).

Shortly after, I had an idler seize and wreck the belt on the supercharger side and have now parked it until I can rectify my issues.

Hope you have all enjoyed my life story, and I hope even more you can help me write a happy ending to it! Haha

    Thanks

I'd get the trans-go shift kit rfrom Dave at tripleedgeperformance.com and go from there. That kit tightened up my trans. which now has about 2x the miles on it than your's and it's still running good. Replacing the plugs/wires didn't cause it, but could have made it more noticeable. Since you said there wasn't a lot of junk in the pan when you changed it then you should be able to make it live longer. Get the kit, do another pan drop/filter change while installing the kit and call it good. No fluid additives needed if everything is working right.
